Percy is stable now, he’s still in the chamber and being watched. They’ve given him steroids to reduce any possible brain swelling. As far as the vet can tell, nothing is actually broken from a physical exam. He can’t do x-rays as it would require sedation, and that’s not possible in his state. They want to wait as he’s still a bit sluggish. The vet thinks his outlook looks good though.

Was your kitty in surgery, or was your vet in surgery with another animal? My kitty (all 24 pounds of him–so I do know about fat cats!) and I are thinking of you!!
He has not had surgery, as far as they could tell there was nothing to do surgery on. Basically I think he got conked on the head/nose.
The vet doesn’t want to Xray him yet. He basically would need to sedate him and wants to wait till he’s not as sluggish. They are watching him and performing nurological tests every hour to make sure he stays the same/okay.

I have a solution to the dog/cat food thing…
I have two dogs and two cats, and the dogs were always slugging down the cat food…
I found a “stable” small table and placed the cat food on that so the dogs can’t reach it, but it is also way away from “our” eating area, as we don’t tolerate cats jumping on kitchen counters/tables where we eat. It works GREAT! just make sure it’s stable so that the cat(s) don’t knock it over when they jump.
It’s not your fault, Dustin. You were trying your best to protect all your little children. Sometimes things happen… it’s really not your fault. I hope everything turns out okay.
