So this Friday “Prince Caspian” hits theaters. I had hoped to start reading “The Golden Compass” this weekend, but instead I pulled out “Prince Caspian” to read. I want to remember the story and see how the movie compares to the book. I’m not sure when we’ll actually see it because the BF will be working late Friday and Saturday, and Sunday is the season finale of “Desperate Housewives.” Oy! I guess it gives me a bit more time to finish it, but I’m already 1/3 through the book. I forgot these are essentially kids books and quick reads.

In other news, I’ve become a cooking monster lately. Yes I have in fact been using that GT Xpress I bought. I’ve made cakes, eggs, calzones and even chicken cordon bleu in it! I love it. I’ve also been cooking up a mess of meat lately, as I’ve been trying to limit the carbs I eat. It’s definately helped me lose some weight, and with the Wii Fit coming next week, I expect to be a lean mean sex machine soon 🙂 I’ve been cooking steaks (which I’ve never done before and have gotten better at) and even ribs! I have however been bad and started cooking cheesecakes, which the BF seems to be eatting more than I do.

  1. MMMM cheesecake, love it. I have never made good ribs. They turn out tough, dry, or rubber like. A lady told me to soak them over night in beer and then toss them in the oven (350) for 40 minutes. Put on BBQ sauce half way thru. I never tried it but will one day soon. How do you make yours?

  2. I did mine in a slow cooker and they were great! I first did pork spare ribs which came out wonderful, the meat literally fell off the bones in a few instances lol. All I did was stick them in, put in the sauce I wanted to use and let them cook for about 5 hours on low.

I tried beef ribs next, which I wouldn’t do again. They just tasted like pot roast, which I don’t very much like.

  3. The really nice things about the Narnia books is that they are short so they translate well to the screen. None of that 985 page Harry Potter rubbish to whittle down.

  4. For ribs use a small teaspoon of cider vinegar to your recipe, and of course the beer!! I miss you Dustin, and your Soap updates… but really enjoy your adventures in real life. I love the parking thing, what an idiot! I even check to see what your latest adventure when I’m out of town on business. You’re pretty special (but in a good way)! (another note, I don’t know if you want published?) We are opening a new store in our city, it’s called Play N Trade, it was one of the top ten franchises last year. I’m not trying to promote, but I thought you should at least check your area to see if you have one because you’re a true gamer, and they sell all the retro games and systems. It’s really neat…. A truly unique experience (if the owner runs it right)>grin< BTW I’m a gamer and love hearing your reviews!!! YEAH Wii FIT! We are all Wii-ners:)
