Oh lord, all my talk of my shaving has now lead to various hair removal ads, including one that says “No more pubic hair ever.” That’s a little too much info right there! I of course clicked on it, cause I just had to see where it went to! Some Nair like site of course.

I had to wake up at the butt crack of dawn today because the DirecTV people were coming. I put in for noon-5pm install, but my online account said they were coming freom 8am-noon! Of course my emails reflected the later time, and of course they showed up around noon. They actually called at 11am to see if they could come earlier than they were supposed to. They are here now installing it as I blog. Yeah!

I got the cheapo 30 bucks a month package. I wanted to get a better deal, but decided not to. They offer channels our cable doesn’t carry, but I really want (like Boomerang). I want to test it out first, then if we like it we may upgrade. Plus the main reason I’m getting this is for a soap, would I really sit in the guest room (where it’s going for now) and watch the other channels? I doubt it.

One of the main problems with going totally DirecTV is that they don’t do internet anymore, they once used to. We aren’t about to give up our cable modem and go back to dial-up! Also we have Vonage through our internet. To go to something like DSL plus back to normal phone service would be too expensive. As luck would have it, Verizon sent a flier for their Verizone Fios stuff. 69.99 for phone and fios internet combined! I have to look into this and find out if this is just local phone, or if it includes long distance or is a VOIP like Vonage. But that price is about what we pay for cable internet and Vonage together. It could make the switch over to all DirecTV in the house a lot easier, and I think we’d save money verses what we pay the monopoly known as Comcast.

PS I now expect to see some ads for DirecTV, Vonage and Comcast show up!
