Won’t somebody please have a heart? Come and rescue me now cause I’m falling apart!
That’s a line from “Under Attack” by Abba for those who don’t know 🙂 It also describes my state of mind! Why you may ask? Several reasons! As usual when I have to leave town for any reason, I suddenly have a million things that need to be done. I also submitted my paper abstract today, which officially gives me a deadline of November to get my dissertation done (well at least a solid draft done).
With the paper abstract submitted, I basically have to kick my school work (ie ass) into overdrive. This weekend is probably going to be my last chance at having a whole lot of fun and relax for a few days. When I return it will be work work work (I will allow myself Friday and Saturday nights off to have fun if the opportunity comes around, my brain shuts off after about 9pm anyways). Too make this deadline I’m going to have to do exactly what I did when I wrote my dissertation proposal. My BF gets up at about 6am every morning and I do too, but only to walk the dogs. I usually go back to bed as I’m a night owl and stay up till 1 or 2am most of the time. Well that will have to end, even if I’m taking sleeping pills to make sure of it. I will have to get up with the BF and stay up. I’ll then go into work with him (across the street, such a long commute) and sit in the lovely conservatory (pictured to the right) at his place of business and do my work. I can play music on my PC so I don’t go totally insane, but I won’t be bothered too much and most importantly, I won’t be able to get online! Yes, it has come to this, I have to go somewhere there is no internet to get my work done. *sigh* The sacrifices I must make. I have yet to decide what to do about the soap updates. I think this will be a daily decision. If I’m on a roll working wise I’ll put it off till later in the day. If I’m feeling drained I’ll let myself go home from 1-3pm to watch and write the updates. Oh there is also the matter of the dogs . . . . I’ll have to play that by ear too. They are so used to (ie spoiled) having me around all the time that they could flip out if left alone every day for a lengthy period.
Dustin
It sounds like a great plan of action, and a beautiful place to get some work done. Good luck!
Hey Dustin – have a great trip.. If you need help on summaries, let me know. Thanks!
