Trying To Motivate

I decided on a new keyboard and mouse, opting to just go with a Microsoft optical mouse/keyboard combo. So far so good, both are wireless. The mouse is a bit bigger than what I was used to, while the keyboard has a slight curve to the key layout. That is taking a bit of time to get used to. Oh I’ve also put my laptop up on a stand, no more drink spills!

BTW I’ve also got the webcams back up finally, so you may see me on them from time to time. Tonight the BF tried to flash the webcam too! I stopped it before he got close enough, but I won’t let him forget this. He who gets all shy when I take photos as he claims they will be posted all over the internet.

I have been trying to get some school work done today, but it hasn’t gone too well. I made some small steps this weekend at least. I’m once again forcing my self to get up early tomorrow in order to get a head start on the day. Every time I decide I’m going to start getting up earlier it never works out, we’ll see how it goes this time. I’ve been thinking of renting a cabin in the middle of nowhere with no TV or internet and just going there to work, but somehow I think I’d only end up board out of my mind and doing nothing at all.

“Desperate Housewives” rocked tonight! I thought for sure Orsen was dead after the end of last week’s episode. Oh and that Dixie Carter! She’s no Julia Sugarbaker that is for sure. I’m sad to see her character go though, I’m sure she’ll be back!

If your haven’t yet started watching “Brothers and Sisters” then what are you waiting for?The BF only got into it recently and is addicted, in spite of me telling him all season how good it was. I think you can catch up with the whole season online at ABC.com. It’s such a good show!

The Oscars are next weekend! Zzzzzzzz. I guess I will watch. It’s more fun if you make it into a party, but it’s on a Sunday night. Bleck, people work the next day. I’m trying to organize a movie night/Nintento Wii night among a few friends as well.

Karma Baby

Both David and Steve have done this recently, I decided I had to do one too. It’s a reading of my aura and karma. You can get yours at improveyourkarma.com.

As a bonus, “Five on Friday!” which I haven’t done in ages but decided to do today for some reason.

Five in a Row
1. Name one thing you do everyday.
Sit down at my computer.

2. Name two things you wish you could learn.
To sing and . . . um . . . okay this question should be “do” instead of “learn” cause technically you can learn anything you set your mind to.

3. Name three things that remind you of your childhood.
Skateboards, videogames, jungle gyms.

4. Name four things you love to eat but rarely do.
Eggplant Parmesan, chocolate cake, pasta carbonara, spaghetti (regular old easy to make spaghetti!)

5. Name five things that make you feel good.
TV, my dogs, my friends, my BF, dancing!

Calling All Techno Geeks!

I need some advice ๐Ÿ™‚ I need to get a new mouse for my laptop, and I’ve needed a new keyboard for months. Currently both are Microsoft products, which I’ve been happy with. However I would venture into logitech land with a good recommendation. The keyboard I have is wired, the mouse is optical.

The question is, do I go for a bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo or just stick with the optical? I’ve noticed there are a lot more optical sets out there than bluetooth, I’m not sure why though. I’ve also noticed the bluetooth sets haven’t often been updated since they were released (several years ago).

Uneventful Valentine

Well we got a storm after all. It wasn’t snow as much as it was sleet and ice. Right now walking outside is like walking on the moon. Well that is what we always called it when we were kids, it is what we imagined walking on the moon would be like.

It looks like we may be getting ANOTHER snow storm this weekend. More news at 11!

We didn’t go out for dinner or a movie. We didn’t really do anything, mostly because I slept all day. I was sick with a migraine/stomach bug thing. Around 7pmish I finally started getting better. Today I am much improved, but I can feel a bit of the headache lingering still.

I have spent the past few days getting sucked into the “Growing Pains” marathon on Nick and Night. I loved this show, but I can’t watch the later episodes when Kirk grew up and found “The Way Of The Master.” After watching some of the reunion specials and hearing the troubles that he caused on the set in the later years, the magic is ruined for me. I do wonder though how he feels about the “I HEART Kirk” marathon being sponsored by EPT.

I also wonder how long Nick and Night will actually show “Growing Pains” before they yank it to show more “Fresh Prince of Belair.” I also wonder why in the hell they are showing “Crocodile Dundee” next week. Since when did Nick and Night show movies?

Kinda Snow

We drove back today, through the snow. We just made it back by time the sleet and freezing rain made its way into the area. At this point everything has stopped. Originally they said it would snow well into tomorrow, but I’m wondering if the weather man screwed up again. If this is the extent of the storm then once again we got maybe an inch out there if we are lucky. I’m thinking I have to give up my dreams of seeing a real storm, but who knows as March is still ahead.

Tomorrow (well today) is Valentine’s Day. With Vegas this weekend I did not plan ahead, I doubt the BF did either. Depending on the weather we could try and go out to dinner tomorrow, but it would have to be someplace that doesn’t require reservations and someplace close. That doesn’t leave too many “classy” options. I guess it beats sitting at home though. If it wasn’t a “Medium” night I would suggest a movie. Oh yeah, that other show “Lost” is on too, for those who like it.

Home To Snow?

We finally got home tonight, late tonight. I have done the soap updates and am about to pass out now. Why I’m so tired I don’t know, but I am.

Before leaving I had complained we hadn’t really had any snow this season. It looks like a huge storm could be coming in overnight and tomorrow. We are driving home from my mother’s with the dogs tomorrow, hopefully it won’t be too bad and we’ll all get back before the ice storms hit.

I still have to get the cruise photos all up and updates on this past weekend. I don’t have many photos, those incriminating things are mostly on the other’s cameras. I’ll post what I can soon. As for stories? Hmm, well I was pretty good compared to my friends ;). For now I will just say the Phantom in Vegas was absolutely amazing, worth the trip alone if you are a Phantom fan. We also ended up getting the cheap half off tickets for Cirque De So Gay’s “Mystere” which was funny, bizarre and amazing at the same time. I really didn’t gamble much at all, mainly because I couldn’t find The Price Is Right machine I wanted to play. I did however happen to win about 60 dollars, but I lost maybe 25. I’m such a risk taker!

Honestly probably the best part of the whole weekend was that I did my best to make it a real vacation and not do much work at all, which let me tell you was harrrrrddddd to do!

Updates Soon!

Sorry I haven’t been writing much. I took this weekend and have been doing what I didn’t do on the cruise, staying off the PC as much as I could ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ll have updates soon. I haven’t been taking many photos as all though (bad me!). I will try and do better today!

I Should Be In Bed

But I’m not. It’s not even 11pm, how can I go to bed so early? We have to be up at 5am to catch a 6am ride to the airport. Bleck! What was I thinking making the plane reservations so early in the morning.

I had hope of doing work on the plane, but if it’s like the last United flight and the seats are jammed together the way they were, forget it. I will just sleep the whole flight, which is the smart thing to do. We get in Vegas at 10:30 am Vegas time. If we want to do anything tomorrow night we’ll have to get a nap at some point.

We can’t check into the hotel till 3pm, fortunately friends got there tonight. We can stash our stuff in their room and I can watch the soaps. Got to see Scissor Sisters on Passions tomorrow!

Speaking of TV, I loved tonights “Ugly Betty.” The Alexis character has made the show new and fun all over again. “Grey’s Anatomy” just OMG! That ending, no fair leaving us hanging that way.

As everyone has no doubt heard, Anna Nicole Smith has died. I like many was shocked to hear this. It’s just so sad, her son just died, and now she leaves behind a baby girl that nobody yet knows who the real father is.

Let There Be Snow!

Last night we got s small dusting of snow. So far this year we really haven’t got much snow at all. The one storm we did get happened while we were on the cruise, and it was gone by the next day. I know people in the Midwest are sick of snow, but i really want snow! I want at least one good storm that shuts everything down for a day or two.

I had my eye doctor appointment today. I don’t need glasses, my eyes seem to be healthy and nothing appears wrong with them either. As for what is in my eye, it probably is just a floater. There is nothing that can be done unfortunately. He said most get better, but it’s a long process (weeks!) If I get more then I have to go back as it is a sign something is wrong.

Today I found out (I’m behind the times) that ABC is going to do an American version of Footballers Wive$ in the fall. Yippee! This could either be a great show or they could just royally screw it up. i don’t see how they can ever recast Tanya though. Word to the wise ABC, don’t try it, just get the real Tanya to be in your version.

We head to Virginia tomorrow. This weekend is the big Days Chatroom Get-Together. After I get back I have to throw myself headfirst into school work. No more trips, no more distractions, no more excuses. The same goes for getting back into shape! I have to start eating healthy and getting regular exercise.
