This coming Wednesday, May 24th, I will be attending a taping of “Martha.” Yea! A friend had tickets for the taping in NYC and asked if I wanted to go. Never having attended a taping of any TV show I said sure! I do have to say I enjoy Martha, always have. Her old show used to air at around 2am in the Philly market and those years I suffered from insomnia I would watch her. The new show comes on right before the soaps, so I tend to see bits and pieces of it. I don’t have a clue who the guest is, or when it will air. However I’ll let everyone know. I’m so excited, I get to see Martha Stewart live and in person! With my luck she’ll probably have Mary Cheney on promoting her new book.

Yes, I know some people think she is Satan himself. Martha I mean, not Mary.

  1. How exciting!! That will suck if your face never show on the camera!! You would have to raise your hand if she ask for what ever reason. And maybe you will get something free!!

  2. Yayyyyyyyy for Dustin! I did watch Ellen for your dogs,, but no luck that day. Good point from previous poster,, do WHAT EVER YOU HAVE TOO to get on tv!!!! Well,, ok,, nothing that will lead to being led off in handcuffs…..no blogging from prison I hear 🙁

  3. I am so jealous! Martha has been my hero since I was a little girl! I think that she is just misunderstood. [Mary, might be Satan himself though ;)]

  4. hey dustin,

i was just at a taping of martha last thursday..this is the second time i have gone and i always enjoy it. she has a great studio with friendly staff when you get in they serve you vitamin water and muffins or brownies its nice..not like many others i have been too…. actually when i was there they taped an extra segment for wednesdays show… i dont want to spoil it for you but you will love it.. its just that you will have to watch this one guest on tape….well enjoy!! welcome to nyc!!!

  5. i attended a taping of Martha last fall when it first began! it was fun, they’re very professional of course… I was a bit disappointed that even though the entire show was devoted to cooking, no samples were passed out to the audience members 🙁 *Waaah waaah waahh*

The guests we had were DEIDRE freaking HALL, and Carnie Wilson. I was thrilled that I got to see MARLENA! She was hilarious on the show, and Carnie was fun too. We all ended up leaving with Carnie’s trailer trash cookbook (which is perfect because trailer trash food is my FAVE!)

Other tapings I’ve attended: Regis and Kelly (very unorganized, but fun – Kelly comes and takes pictures with you in the audience during the commercial break, and also we ran into Susan Lucci in the hallway since AMC tapes next door – boy is she tiny!), the Letterman Show (very professional – so much so that it comes off as cold. speaking of cold, the theatre this was in was FREEZING and it didn’t help that we were all soaking wet from the rain. It’s a well-oiled machine for sure.), and finally: The VIEW.

Turns out The View was my favourite show to attend… The warm up act was hilarious, the hosts were very interactive with the audience, and we got to see Barbra freaking Walters! After the end of the show, they had a Q&A session with the audience, so that was nice of them. We all left with goodies too (some cookbook) and a bagged lunch for everyone to take!! Nice touch, ladies!

The only show I want to go see now is Conan, and possibly SNL but I hear tickets for that is hella-hard to get. Hope you have a fabulous time at Martha! Sorry for rambling! 🙂
