So I figured I best check in before another week goes by without a post. As Summer approaches I should have more to blog about, both more free time and more going on. For example I finally plan on getting this house into long overdue shape by cleaning out the basement and redoing the guestrooms downstairs finally.

I have to get back to watching what I eat and make time to get to the gym. I hit 160 today. Not as bad as the 180 I was, but I was 150 back in December when I basically stopped running due to a nasty rash, which turned out to be eczema.

I do admit, I have been hitting McDonalds FAR more than I should lately, and that has to stop. In trying to eat healthier I’ve actually done something shocking, I’ve started eating fish! Okay actually one kind of fish, tilapia, which I can take because it’s so mild in flavor. However I need some good recipes for it, so please share if you have any you love. So far my favorite way too cook it seems to be blackening it with a yummy Cajun-creole rub I got off the net. Spicy goodness!

Finally a bit of cute news. I submitted some photos of the pets to Cute With Chris, a website about pets with a weekly video blog show. He posted a photo I took of Nikko and Lance! You can see it here on Cute With Chris!

I keep seeing on my Twitter feeds and Facebook from lots of people sick of the snow they are getting. So here is there chance to send it my way!

Lately the weather here in Jersey has been sunny and hot one day, almost to the point you could wear shorts, to cold and gray the next, or just plain shitty like today. It’s cold, gray and raining. I mean pouring down rain.

We have not seen a really good snow in years here. I’m going to say 5 or 6 was the last time we got hit to the point that the state was put into a state of emergency because it was so deep (I think we got 10 inches, which is a lot for us).

I would like a nice deep snow, one that shuts down the state. One that makes traffic outside just stop because nobody can drive in it. I want me a blizzard! Of course the downside of where I live . . . no hills to go sledding on. Plus I’d have to shovel a walkway to walk the dogs. The doggies love when we get snow, they run around in it and think it’s the best thing ever. Of course they’ve only seen it a few times.

We have some birthdays coming up in the house!

On Saturday Nikko will be three years old.

Grim is probably 1 year old now as well. He showed up last year a week or two before Thanksgiving. At that time he was estimated to be about 6 weeks old, because his eyes were changing color. So I am going to default and give him Nikko’s birthday as well.

Sadly because he was so malnurished when we found him, it seems to have stunted his growth. He was possibly the runt as well, which may have been why he was on his own. He’s a very tiny cat compared to all our other ones, which doesn’t really show in this photo I know.

It seems my allergies are in simpatico with poor Princess. The past two weeks I’ve been clogged up, post nasal drip, pretty much in hell. Aside from the fact that it’s the season and the crops are all blooming, I’ve been trying to find out why I’m so miserable in our house but okay outside of it! The BF, not wanting to waste the money using the AC, had been opening the bedroom window at night for cool air. This of course is bad for me because there is a farm field right outside our window! I put an end to that last week and stuck an air filter in our room to try and clean it out, but it hasn’t helped. Today I cleaned the whole house as best I could and also turned out the house fan. Since we haven’t had the AC or the heat going, there has been a lack of air circulation. I turned on the house fan today to get things moving, to see if that actually helps at all. Yeah I know technically that would churn up the dust more, but it would also force it through filters. I also changed the nasty dirty filter in the furnace thingy! Ew! When the hell was the last time it was changed? I don’t know honestly. I’m hoping that will do the trick. So far I am feeling better than I was last night for sure.

Meanwhile poor Princess, today I noticed her scratching, shaking her head a lot, then I saw she was holding one ear down. Yup, it’s that time again for her too. Her allergies are acting up and her ear was inflamed and all, which seems to happen around this time every year. I fortunately have a bottle of prednisone and gave her a pill. By the end of the day the ear was back to normal and her itching under control. She’s due for another now actually, I’ll give it to her as soon as this post is done.

Changing the subject somewhat, but staying on ears, I ve decided I want new earrings, as well as more. Currently I have 2 in each lobe and 1 in my left cartilage. I want 1 more in the cart below the current one and 1 more in the other lobe (I have to keep the sides different numbers, I don’t know why, having even numbers in both seems so uncool to me). I’ve wanted to get more for awhile, I just never have. My first cart one took forever to heal, I think that’s why. I think I might do it this summer though. I also want different earrings, or should I say colors. I have the plain old silver/steel loops you get at the piercing parlors. I want some color, and am thinking blue on one side and orange on the other (cause the also can’t be the same), assuming i can find orange. I’m sure I can, otherwise I’ll go with black. I’ll probably get the colored earrings first, then the piercings later. Oh and for the curious, I have nothing else pierced! I can barely deal with putting in and taking out earrings, it skeeves me, I don’t know why. So I could not do it anywhere else on my body!

I took these photos of Princess and Lance yesterday, engaged in Princess favorite thing to do to him . . . lick his ears! As you can see, Princess enjoys pinning him down and going to town. He’s the only cat that will sit still and let her do it to him.

The following video was made very quickly by me this morning, so there isn’t much fanciness to it. In fact I didn’t even use the video editing software I bought, I did it all with the camera because I don’t have time to be fooling around this morning. We leave for Vegas soon! Anyway, anytime Princess sees me with a suitcase she goes into hysterics as she thinks I’m leaving her. This morning was pretty mild compared to her usual antics.

Okay so since I’ve got a lot of incoming links to the blog because of the soap site stuff, I figured I’d use this post to talk about myself. It will let people who might be new to the blog get to know a little about the guy who ran that page, but they may not have really known aside from his name and that he watched soaps.

First off, let’s just talk about the elephant in the room shall we? I am a 32 year old man who for 14-some years ran a website dedicated to soap operas. In case you never figured it out, yes I’m gay. It wasn’t something never outright addressed by me on the soap page, but if someone really wanted to know the answer they could have easily found out with some exploring. I tried to, but a few times failed, to keep anything political in nature off the page and keep it a neutral place, with only soaps being the issue.

So yes, I’m gay. Now contrary to what some might believe, I’m not here to molest your kids, statistically your straight relatives are more likely to do that. I’m not here to ruin your holy sanctity of marriage, statistically you along with Britney Spears are doing a damn good job of that on your own. I was not molested, I was not abused, I did not chose to be this way anymore than you chose to be straight. If you want to argue whether or not it’s a choice, please go down to your local zoo and argue with the animals there, as some of them seem to make the choices too.

If your still with me, I’ve been in a monogamous relationship with my boyfriend for over 6 years now. We live in New Jersey and in our very own haunted house! Yup, I’ve made several postings about it, you can read about it on the blog in the paranormal section. I’ve seen, heard, felt and yes been touched by the ghosts. I’ve always loved ghosts and the learning about views of and beliefs in the afterlife. I never expected to actually end up living in my very own haunted house. Growing up I always wanted to be either a parapsychologist or an archaeologist, because I also enjoyed learning about how different people buried their dead, which by the way IS what I’m studying now. Seeing a theme here?

We share our house with two dogs and five, yes five cats. I know, it’s a virtual zoo here. The dogs are my terriers Princess Bumbles and Nikko. Princess is a westie and I got the Bumbles part from “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.” Nikko is a cairn and is named after the captain of the flying monkeys from “The Wizard of Oz.” The cats are Lance(alot), Galahad, Moo Kitty (real name Gawain), Percy (Percival, also called Orange Kitty) and Grim (short for Pilgrim, finally breaking away from frickin Arthurian names!).

Many people might who might have read my pages always noticed I went on my vacations in January. Yes an odd month to go. That is because it’s when my boyfriend was off work. He works on a farm, yes a farm. It’s a family business, so they are closed in the winter months and it’s his only chance to get away. So for the past six years we had our vacations then, which were always cruises. Oh and yes, I kept running the page as much as I could while I was on a cruise ship. Talk about obsession!

Seriously though, I made some amazing friends through the page, people I know I’ll be friends for with life. One of my oldest internet friends Ive probably known for ten plus years and we till try to see each other at least once a year when her job brings her anywhere nearby. Other friends are a few years old, but they are whom I would take weekends to see in New Orleans or what not the past few years. Two also just came to stay with me, they are who I went to New York back in February with. We all talk almost every night online.

A little other fun facts about me. I love horror films, I have since I was a kid and rented out the local video store’s selection the summer between 4th and 5th grade. I’m more into the old school slashers and anything supernatural. The new horror flicks I find to either be really bad remakes of 80s stuff, Japanese movies or basically just a guts and gore fest that is too much for me to take. Growing old, and advances in film make-up, has made me a bit squeamish.

I also love videogames and have since a little kid. The first videogame system I ever had was the Intellivsion, followed by various Sega systems. Once upon a time I used to run a fairly popular Sega fan page, but gave it up a long time ago. I still love videogames and have pretty much every system out there. I’m just now finding the extra time to start playing games again regularly. I have been trying to stay away from on-line gaming until school is done, that’s just another distraction for me!

I also love Broadway shows, something I really didn’t get into until more recently and thanks to various friends. The odd thing is, growing up I was in the band and orchestra and we always, I mean always, did an Andrew Lloyd Weber show at least once a year. Well we played a medley of the music from one show. So I don’t know why I didn’t get into them earlier. I’ve seen Mamma Mia, Phantom, Hairspray, Xanadu, Wicked, Evita, Scrooge, La Cage, Aida and . . . umm . . . I think that may be it? I am sure I’m missing some.

I guess that is enough for now. I was going to try and link to various posts in the blog that I’ve done over the years, but I never got around to searching and choosing the ones I liked. I guess if any fun fact here sparked your interest you can peruse the various categories on the side bar or the linked ones in this post for more info.

The Superbowl is on . . . . like I care! Even the halftime show, which I bothered to turn on, sucked. Tom Petty? Yuck, no thank you. We spent most of the day picking up the house for are house guests this week. I’ll do a super clean on Tuesday and Wednesday most like, vacuuming, the bathroom, the floors.

I’m trying to plan what to do with Shannan and Nica. They get in Thursday, and should they not be pooped from the plane ride I was thinking we’d go to Philly that night for some drinks and then hit the drag show there. Haven’t done it in years, so I hope it is still as fun as it used to be.

Friday we hit New York, which I’ve been looking forward to, but has been a source of stress. What to do with my dogs for almost 24 hours! Shannan and Nica wanted to meet them, so I couldn’t take them to my mom’s. I was looking into boarding them, but I hate that idea because I’m afraid it will traumatize them (cause they are spoiled). Plus they’ve never done the whole overnight with a stranger thing, let alone I don’t want them in cages somewhere for an extended period of time. I was about to be at the mercy of Petsmart’s Pets hotel, but we found someone to come walk them that evening. That should keep the mess they might make down to a minimum, hopefully.

Coming up this week is the big super Tuesday! Honestly we haven’t even found out who the two candidates are going to be and I’m sick of the debates, the commercials and the news reports on them all. I can’t take place in the primary this Tuesday, as I’m not registered to vote in Jersey yet. Don’t worry, I printed out my Rock The Vote application to send in this week I’ll be good to go come election day. Oh and I’ve ordered some “Hillary for President” signs for the front yard, I just hope they get here in time. I mostly ordered them to piss off Shannan and Nica, who hate her Sorry girls, you have to sleep in a house with Hillary signs out front. Hehehehe
