I figured I better make a blog post, as it’s been a few days since my last one. We’ve pretty much got all the decorations up. The tree should be going up tonight, assuming the BF can fix all the lights that are out on it. Each year the tree gets worse and worse, but he won’t give up on it. It’s this weird green wire tree with red and green lights. It doesn’t look like your normal tree, it’s modern and fresh and blah blah blah. I keep threatening to buy a new one, I’m over it 🙂 He however loves it.

I put my never ending nativity up this weekend. Sadly I had to be selective, only putting the main cast of characters up. I never got around to buying the book shelf I considered to put everyone on it. At this point I doubt I will.

I head home to Virginia tomorrow for a lot of back and forth between their and Jersey for the next two weeks. I have stuff that has to be done up here still, and decorating that has to be done down there. Oh yes, more decorating! It’s only half over. I also got some more icicle lights to put up at my mom’s house too 🙂

The BF’s birthday is today. I decided to try and make a chocolate cheesecake for him. Oh lordy they are a lot more work than plain or even pumpkin. If this thing isn’t orgasmic I doubt I’ll do it again. It was a nightmare to make for many reasons. Lets see, idiot me left the bag of chocolate chips on the stove WHICH WAS ON. Yeah I melted about 1/4th of them. Oops! Then I fudged up the crust. I tried to take the easy way out. Rather than crunch up chocolate cookies (which I couldn’t find to save my life, except for oreos which are too much work cause of the icing) I bought pre-made chocolate pie crumb crusts and crushed them up to reuse them. Well it worked okay, but I think I had too much butter. Then I put it in the oven to bake and forgot. The whole thing puffed up like a souffle! Then on top of that I grabbed it with a oven mit with a hole in it, dropped it and muffed it up. I manage to save it once it cooled. Well I think I did. That will be determined when I’m able to taste it! Then the creme de la creme, I finally put the cake in the oven and for 45 minutes wondered why it was not baking. I turned the oven off and forgot to turn it back on!

It will be interesting to see if it ACTUALLY turns out at this point.

  1. In a pinch, you could probably substitute chocolate graham crackers or chocolate Teddy Grahams for plain chocolate cookies.
