I had to laugh as you described running in the dark. I know it's scary, but it somehow amused me to think of a mugging in Colonial Williamsburg. I could only think of a ghost (or Swamp Thing) doing the mugging, and how then at least you would have gotten something new from taking that tour. I get it though. There are a lot of unlit roads around here, and I've walked them nervously. It's the wildlife we have to worry about here however, what with bears, bobcats and coyotes.
