Harry Potter Mania!

So tonight at midnight the final book goes on sale. I was to go with Emily and her friend Diana to a book release party at the B&N around the corner. I just feel to crappy to go :( I actually was in the car on the way, but didn’t bring anything to tide me over for the hours we’d be there. We turned around so I could get my laptop or Nintendo DS. Emily offered to just get the book for me if I wasn’t feeling up to it. I took her up on the offer.

So here I sit, blogging and counting down the minutes. I would love to stay up reading the book, but I need sleep. Some sickly person or child on the plane back from New Orleans gave me a nasty cold bug that I’ve been fighting for a few days now. I’ve also run out of cold medicine at this point. I’m not a happy camper. I considered running to CVS to get some, but decided not to because I feel so detached right now. I did however realize they are 24 hours . . . would there be a line for Harry Potter at CVS? Probably not :)

New Orleans 2007

So here is a photo filled recap of my trip to New Orleans this year! First up, this is almost ALL the photos I took. None of us really took many photos this time around. I myself have enough photos of New Orleans. Had we done something different, I’d probably have more. Alas, I never really took any photos of us together :(

I flew out Thursday right after the soaps. I literally was picked up by a taxi to the airport the second Passions ended. I flew out Thursday rather than Friday, because 1) it would have been Friday the 13th and 2) I knew this way I’d be able to see the soaps in the hotel on Friday. Yes I know, another vacation planned around the soaps.

Hurtin

I woke up this morning in paaaaiiiinnnn! My back was in knots. I don’t know if it was just a delayed reaction from the weekend, stress, or both. I ended up laying on the heating pad for awhile. Getting old sucks!

The vacation blog post, with photos, is on the way. I have it almost done. Well it’s done, I just want to go back and make sure I’m not leaving anything important out.

The dogs were excited to see me. I had to get five minutes of kisses from them. Then they went on their merry ways. The house, somehow, is more of a mess than when I left it! This is not good. Keith wants to come up the last weekend of the month for a visit. I have to get this sucker clean by then! I could do a little each day, but that never seems to work with me. I’ll just have to choose a day this weekend and just cleaaaannnnnn.

Friday night Emily, myself and her friend are going to the Harry Potter Midnight release party at the Barnes and Nobles down the street. I guess you know what I’ll be doing this weekend! Reading reading reading! I’ll have that book done before Monday!

Still Here!

I just made it back from New Orleans. I’ll give a recap as soon as I rest up and get a good nights sleep. My hotel room faced Bourbon St, so I had some sleeping issues.

Happy Happy Birthday Baby!

Princess Bumbles is 3 years old today! How time flies. It seems like I took this photo only yesterday.

Of course daddy happens to be leaving her on her birthday, but somehow I don’t think she knows it’s her birthday. Therefore the guilt is all on me. She knows I’m leaving though, the suitcase is out and every time I go out the door for anything she goes nuts.

Rain Rain Go Away!

The forecast for New Orleans all weekend is thunderstorms or scattered thunderstorms. This does NOT make me happy! It doesn’t just rain in New Orleans, it pours and floods! No trip to New Orleans is without a rain storm, but the whole time? Insane!

We are all trying to figure out alternatives. Bringing board games, bring movies, whatever we can think of should we be stuck in the hotel for a good while. We are all bringing our laptops, and the bars all have wifi for some reason. Hey if they offer it, someone must be using it! We’ll be the geeks on the laptop in the bar watching the Big Brother live internet feeds and talking in a soap chat room!

Red Moon

Last night there was a really really red moon out and it was hanging low in the night sky. I tried to take some photos, but I was tired and wasn’t able to get the best photos. Plus even though the moon looked HUGE to me, it kept coming out small on the camera. What’s up with that? An optical illusion?

I don

So today I ran into Shoprite (a grocery store chain slowly taking over America, I hate them). When I pulled into the space in the parking lot, I notice that some old person (I assume) left a big box of depends in the bottom of their shopping cart. I really wanted to take them, but I didn’t. I did my shopping and came back, they were still there! I still wanted to take them. Now of course I have no need for depends, but it was just the fact that they were there and I could take them. I wanted to, but I didn’t. I was afraid I’d be caught on parking lot cameras stealing adult diapers.

A gold star for anyone who can name where the post title comes from. No googling! Cheaters never win!

Blogs, Big Brother, Shoes and Haircuts; Oh My!

So I’m slowly working on merging the old blog with the new one. I’ve backed them up, we shall see how this works. I’ve also, in an insane moment, created another 2 blogs! What the hell am I thinking? Honestly I don’t know if I’ll even use either of them, it was just a momentary lapse. One is a side project that I’m working on in private, if it comes to fruition one day I’ll reveal it. It’s one of those thing that starts off with the best of intentions, but I probably won’t have the time to make it happen. Therefore if I keep it private, nobody gets disappointed! The other blog isn’t something I’d make a post in every day, but rather when the moment calls for it. I may actually launch this one soon, as it’s a passion of mine that I’ve been ignoring on this blog for a while, even though I should be posting about the subject :) I know your curious now.

I’ve become a “Big Brother” addict. They show it every night for 3 hours on Showtime 2. It’s addicting to just watch people living in their house! Admittedly they can be boring as hell at times and it would be far more entertaining if they all took their clothes off. I don’t think they will do that just for me though.

I went out and got some nice new shoes today. I’d been wearing ones from two years ago, since SOMEONE chewed up all my more current shoes. They shall remain nameless, but it wasn’t the BF. I got some nice on sale vans (I don’t but any shoes that aren’t cheap and on-sale anymore because who knows how long they’ll last) as well as some Keen sandals. They are kinda like Tevas, I’ve been wanting some for 2 years now and finally got them.

I also hit the hair cuttery for a haircut so I look sharp next week. OMG I sat in hair cuttery for 2 fricken hours! I figured no kids in school anymore, holiday weekend, it couldn’t possibly be insane. It was. Not on was it insane, at one point a screaming 2 year old was given a hair cut.

Anyways, off to watch more of the Live Earth concert, it’s the only thing on today it seems.

Blogs Blogs Blogs!

I have discovered that with the newer versions of WordPress, the blog software I use, that one can export and import blogs from one site to another, even merging two. Hmmmmm. I have a long dormant blog at http://www.wizardworks.net/blog/ that I’d love to integrate into my archives here. The tricky part is I have to upgrade both the old one and this one to the new software. I hate doing that :) Plus I have to fiddle around with the category names. Some are exactly the same, that could cause issues possibly, I’m not sure. I’d most likely have to rename the categories on the old blog with an old tag and then one by one move EVERYTHING into the newer categories, just to be on the safe side. Yuck!

I haven’t done too much TV talk on here in a while. That would be because I started a second experimental blog. You can find it over at The Primetime Dish. That’s where I’ve been doing all my TV rants and raves and stuff. It was started as an experiment to find a new show to replace The O.C. on my soap pages, but I decided I just liked doing it in general and kept it going and probably will keep it going. I watch too much TV, I need an outlet for it :)
